Connect with others as part of a community hub
We are created in the image of a God who dwells in perfect, loving, intimate community; Father, Son and Spirit. Within this community flows mutual love, service, care, commitment, purpose, appreciation and delight. We are therefore created with a desire to enjoy this loving, intimate relationship with God and to be part of loving, caring communities.
Community Hubs seek to create a place of connection and belonging within City Church. They have a relational priority and focus. Love for each other is expressed as we chat and enjoy food together, pray for one-another, support one-another and enjoy fun & fellowship together. Connect with others in City Church as part of a Community Hub.
Fellowship comes from the Greek word koinonia which means joint participation. In the New Testament this word is used to describe the ongoing process of relating socially together and partnering together in life and mission. As we gather together across the city, we seek to pray for, identify with, connect with, serve and reach out to the local communities in which we live. Connect with your local community as part of a Community Hub.
When & What
FIRST SUNDAY each month
After church Community Hubs enjoy lunch together at someone’s house. The emphasis is on meeting socially to connect and build relationship together.
THIRD MID-WEEK each month
The focus of the mid-week evening meeting is to support and encourage one-another in life and in mission together.
Community Hubs will develop their own distinct vision & emphasis. They may need
bigger venues or meet mid-week in 2 groups.
Where & Who
There are many distinct communities across the city of Dundee. The vision is to see Hubs connecting with and serving all of these communities. We are starting with four Community Hubs, though we recognise that a fifth city-centre Hub may soon be required.
